Giving back in memory of Badis

I want to tell you a little about Badis — my gorgeous dog who sadly passed away in May 2024. We got him from a Lithuanian family when he was 18 months old, and he instantly became my world. From school days to starting my career, he was always there — waiting patiently by the door with a wagging tail and those eyes that seemed to say, “I’ve got you.”

Badis had his own special way about him — stubborn in the best way, full of silly antics, and always ready for a cuddle when you needed it most. He wasn’t the biggest fan of walks (he’d rather be snoozing), but car rides? Those were his absolute happy place. He’d happily lounge in the back seat with his tongue hanging out, treating every trip like a mini holiday.

I won’t lie losing him hit me harder than I expected. The silence at home, the empty spot on the sofa — it’s a hole that feels huge. But remembering the little things — like the time he “rescued” me by pulling me into a puddle of mud on holiday, his proud “toilet roll redecorating” projects, and his obsession with chicken on Sunday roast day — helps keep him close.

Honouring Badis feels right. So, I’m donating a small portion of every wedding and motherhood booking to Blue Cross — a charity that supports pets and their families in so many important ways.

So far in 2025, we’ve raised £45

Donation will be made on 31st December 2025

Blue Cross does so much more than care for animals—they support the whole family. From rehoming pets and providing affordable vet care to offering guidance and comfort, their work makes a real difference.

What really stands out is their support for people dealing with the loss of a pet. Their free online chat offers a gentle, caring space for anyone going through that difficult time — reminding us all that help and kindness are always within reach.

That’s why I’m proud to donate to Blue Cross in Badis’s memory. It feels like the best way to honour him and give back to a charity that truly cares about pets and the people who love them.

If you or someone you know ever needs that kind of support, you can find it here.
